too many changes...

Hi everyone! Its me again...i was wondering if any one knows if changing your pacemaker setting a lot has any effect on your heart. Since i had my pacemaker implanted i have not had a setting that has lasted more than a couple of months. My doc says it may take some time to get the correct settings for me and my heart problems. I was wondering if any one has had this happen as well and if it is normal to keep having my settings changed after 3 years so often. As you may already know, i have complete heart block after a bad surgery and have abnormal atrial rhythms as well as neurocardiogenic syncope. Thanks you and God bless you all.

For many people, they change the settings once or twice and they're good to go, but it's not unheard of for it to be more of an evolving process. I've had a pm for 15 yrs now and they still mess with my settings. We've found secondary problems that were masked by my main problem, my heart has changed with age so new problems have cropped up, and they're constantly tweaking it in an effort to make my battery last longer. Now I have a bad lead, so most of the changes are compensating for that. Sometimes I go years without problems with my settings, sometimes they're changing it every check up. Whatever it takes to feel good!
