atrial lead replaced

Hi ,

Just curious. Ive recently had another atrial lead placed as the original had gone a little wrong.  I was paced at 60 bpm.  Just checked my pulse (and I dont even know why I did it lol) and noticed that my heart was beating at 50 bpm.  checked it again and the same thing was happening.  Now my question is this:  Would the technician have lowered my pacing rate and not told me? and what would be the reason for this?  Got to say, I feel fine and am not having any adverse effects from it. My pulse does feel a little odd though but only on checking it. Havent noticed any palpatations.

Weird...

I assume that you are speaking of your minimum rate

If they replaced a lead, they should not have changed your settings. However, anything is possible. There is nothing wrong with calling the office and asking the doc, his nurse or the tech if they made any changes. It shouldn't be a big deal either way (I mean it is nothing to worry about), but it is something I'd want to know, for sure.

My lower setting is at 50 bpm and I am O.K. with that. It may be too low for some people. Some folks just don't feel well at that low of a rate. I guess that my body is accustomed to it.
