EP needs to change lead to atria

Hello there. I had my Medtronic dual lead pacemaker implanted 7 months ago and yesterday my EP told me he needs to change the lead to the atria. My symptoms are continuing palpitations and a pounding sensation even though the voltage is at minimum.  EP would like to do this in three months at which time he will also reposition the pacemaker since it has slid down significantly.  Can anyone comment??  Thank you.

If the lead needs to be moved and the pm is slipping why didn't they correct the problem yesterday?  With my first pm one of the leads went dead in a matter of days.  The Doctor went back in and  replaced the lead.

What is the reason for waiting 3 months?  Maybe I'm missing something. But that's the question I have concerning your problem.  Good Luck.

From your post, thinking it is time for a second opinion.  Not impossible, but I would have definite concerns with nothing seeming to be going right,,,,.device, lead and symptoms.  Please don't wait until you experience even more issues before resolving what you are already going through.

Risks to?

Second opinion of EP says the lead has to be replaced for two reasons: (1) it is operating in unipolar instead of bipolar, and (2) the scar tissue is growing around the lead.  (I suggered a perforated atrial vein during the implant.)

Has anyone had a lead removed for either of the above reasons? I understand there are grave risks.
