Well, this was a surprise!

This has all been a huge surprise! By "this", I mean needing and getting a pacemaker, realizing that my seemingly/apparently robust good health, "limitless" can-do Life experiences, and "healthy low blood pressure"...didn't keep bradycardia from being a life-limiting fact. "Surprise!"

It's been a month, now, since pacer need identified and subsequent implantation. Bottom line is that this experience and opportunity just adds to my life philosophy: An Attitude of Gratitude transforms every day-moment-experience.

So -- thank you, All, for coming on this website, for your comments and creating a Community of support and info.

I was really concerned about being able to be free to use small-medium power tools (have always loved the freedom to "just do" and create...!). After reading a number of comments re. this, I feel that other than, perhaps, using a chainsaw (but, family isn't keen on my doing this anyway; others can take on those chores -- that works!), with some wisdom and perhaps a few adjustments, I really can continue to use the tools that I find to handy and helpful in creating a lovely, practical environment.

I'm now also pretty sure I can install my electric potter's wheel and do what I planned in that regard. Oh, fun!

Though I know very well that Life can sure throw us some challenging curves, I'm still on my overall "plan" for two-three... more excellent, Life-loving decades. Whew!

Thanks, again, for the candid observations re. use of tools, everyone.

Best wishes to All -- "SweetSuz"

Welcome Onboard

I also have Bradycardia due to SSS and like you it came as a total surprise. I'm very active and have borderline low blood pressure, but within 24 hours of the first symptoms I had been rushed into hospital and received my very own pacemaker. But I don't see my Bradycardia as "life limiting" in any way.

PS. I still use a petrol chainsaw and I've not experienced any problems.

Excellent -- thanks, Shaun!

From what I've heard and been reading -- including your comments, here -- it should all work out to be pure blessing -- yaay!

Thanks!

Thanks, Grateful Heart -- couldn't agree more (nice online name, btw)!

Great attitude

Love your attitude.

I have been almost 100% paced for 3 years and I can do anything I want to - chainsaw, angle grinder, running, cycling, trekking. I found once I got the settings right (for me) I don't even think about whether I can do something.

It will be your attitude and mind that limits you (not your PM).

Good luck and enjoy the experience

Paul

Thank you, Paul!

Thanks, Paul -- I truly appreciate your taking the time and interest to reply and encourage!

Very glad to read of your activities that you still can enjoy -- excellent and, also, encouraging.

Love your last words: "...enjoy the experience". Indeed!!

I am SO very grateful for this help in Life: Go...pacemakers for people!

Thanks, again and all the best to you.
