Hybrid Cars

I have had my pacemaker about 5 months.  It is set so it will take over if my heart-rate goes below 60 bpm but I also have SVT which is controlled by medication.  When I ride in our Lexus Hybrid I have noticed that my heart rate increases. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Hybrid or electric cars.

Thanks

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but this has been discussed recently, when you are driving in a vehicle, the motion and bumpiness can trick your PM and will up your heart rate as if you are exercising (rate response). This happens to me and I didn't know what the heck it was honestly thought it was anxiety but it seems to happen to others here as well.

Yes, this happened to me when my pacemaker was first implanted. Certain bumpy roads or driving over speed bumps a little too fast would set off my pacemaker. Even a quick jog across a parking lot would increase my heartrate too much. You can even speed up the pacing by tapping your pacemaker. It took several tries but my doctor made some adjustments to the settings and no more problems.  Everyone has different requirements for their heartrate, your doctor will work with you to find the correct settings for you.

Not Crazy

We have a V10 diesel that sent me into tachycardia regularly (Don't know if it was the motor or the ride). I thought I was crazy, but none of our other cars did it. It hasn't done it since my first adjustment a few weeks after the surgery.
