Feelin' hot

I am 5 1/2 weeks post-op and I am noticing that I am feeling hot more often than I used to.  Not a hot flash. I am past those, I believe.  It does pass, but it is unsettling. Could this be from the fact that my resting HR used to be 45-55 and is now no lower than 60? Or am I just obsessing over every little thing? Which is hard not to do!

Nope, no medication changes. Maybe just part of the adjustment period.  I am not really concerned, more curious!

Hi,

I received my pacemaker a year and a half ago! I remember feeling like this for a while afterward, I can't recall exactly how long but I do remember having "hot flashes" of sorts! I noticed this especially because I was always the type of person who was cold a lot! I don't really have these flashes of being warm anymore and body temp seems more regulated now!

your post caught my attention because I thought I was crazy!! Lol! :)

60 BPM is usualy the baseline setting. Your heart rate before was too low and probably the reason you now have PM. The warmth may be your body circulating more blood or fighting a light infection. But if it the temp isnt high I would'nt worry about it.

HOT

I was cold prior to my PM. I know from watching my mother die from chf that this is normal in heart failure.

Now since my heart pumps so much better I stay hot too. I mean weather that used to mkae me cold doesn't bother me much.

Eventually as my heart condition worsens I knwo the cold will return, but for now it is just another indicator you are doing great!

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
