I'm getting one in a few weeks and when I called up to make an appt they said it was a 3D machine and I mentioned that I have a pm.   They said it was fine.   I'll ask again but I think they would have said something to me.

You can have the exam done.  I reccommend that you be very clear with the Tech about the fact that you have a pacemaker.  If it becomes too painful, tell them to stop.  I do not want to dicourage you from having the test, because I believe they are valuable and neccesary.  My last mammo was not pleasant and I ended up with bruising and soft tissue damage. The person that did my claimed to have years of experience and I still had terrible pain, lasting a couple weeks following the procedure.  I have since been in contact with the group that did the exam, and have been assured that I should not have had to endure such an experience.  All that being said I think you can read on this site that many women have had the test with no issues at all.

Thank you!

I plan on being VERY clear that I don't even care if their pictures are as clear as THEY would like them. I'll take the risk. My priority is this gadget in my chest keeping me alive.

Greatly appreciate your response.
