It's basically a glass beaker that you fill with boiling water and the proper amount of coffee.  You then let it steep for about 4-5 minutes after which you "press" the coffee grounds to the bottom of the beaker, pour, and enjoy.  The press has a metal mesh attached to a long handle.  You'll find them in all of the box stores by the coffee makers.  IMO, the absolute best way to drink coffee.  Buy some orgainic coffee beans, coffee grinder, tea kettle for boiling water, and a French Press.  BAM!  You are all set.  Won't need milk or creamer either.  Coffee will come out smooth.  Life is too short to drink crappy coffee or tea.
