pacemaker

I sometimes experience a prickly feeling, almost like little zaps at the pacemaker site.  It is not very painful, more of a bother.  I am wondering if this is common. What is going on?  It must have something to do with the nerves around the site?

That's the nerves knitting back together as it continues to heal. You can ice it if it gets bothersome. It goes away.

I had the same feelings for a few months.   It does go away. Glad to hear it is normal!

Nerves

I have had the PM in since October of 2014,  it sure is taking a long time to heal!
I guess it takes years for the nerves to settle in?

If it's gone on for more than a year, talk to your doctor. There are some things they can do to calm it down if it hasn't gone away on its own.

TraceyE
I had only little, periodic "zaps" before, they ar much more frequent now.  Worse than in the begining.  I will be asking the Doc about it...
Thanks!

I get that too!

I think I know what you are talking about. I get that too it's sort of feels like a nerve twisting but it'snot painful. This is the 3rd PM device now. I get it mostly on two occasions:

1. When my headsets to the phone are setting directly on the PM or too close but it stops as soon as I move them.

2. Also I own two devices (Table and phone) that somehow I feel the need to put under my pillow when I go to sleep 😂. For some unusual reason the activity of the phone causes that feeling and likewise I just move it far from the side with the PM and continue on with my sleep.

Hope this helps incase you also are suffering from interference or something.

That what it feels like to me.  Quick and sharp bites....lol.

It's the nerves regenerating.  It usually eases up after a year.
