Pacemaker

My blood pressure the last couple years has been held at 120 or so/ over 70 or so with the help of medication.  I had a PM implant on the 13th of April.  Yesterday and today I have checked my blood pressure and is only 95/59.....would it have anything to do with the pacemaker?   I'm a little nervous with that being so low.  I am also light headed when I bend over or get up out of a sitting position to fast.  Just curious if anyone else has anything like this going on.

Pacing doesn't directly affect blood pressure. It's possible your dosage needs adjusted. If you feel lightheaded combined with low bp, your doctor needs to know asap. If you can't reach by phone over the weekend, consider ER.

Medications

If your doctor has prescribed beta blocker medications those can cause the symptoms you mention.  If so, the dosage or type of medication might need to be changed.  If you have recently been prescribed medications you might need some time to adjust to them.  The light headedness is a concern so don't be reluctant to call your doctor and request an appointment.

If you have a dual chamber or 3 lead pm it can lower your bloodpressure.

What type of device do you have?

You know you're wired when...

You have a maintenance schedule just like your car.

Your anxiety is normal. It takes some of us a little time to adjust to the new friend. As much as they love you, family and friends without a device just cannot understand the adjustment we go through. That is why this site is so valuable.
