Having pacemaker surgery whilst breastfeeding

Hi there

has anyone continued breastfeeding whilst having a pacemaker put in?

i have a 5 month old baby and may need my first pacemaker in the next few weeks. 

My baby is currently exclusively breastfeed, although will take a bottle if needed.  

Has anyone managed to continue breastfeeding post surgery?  If so, any tips on how to do this as smoothly as possible.

also, for those of you will little ones, how did you go with lifting/caring for your children in the weeks following surgery?  How much additional help did you need?

Very new to all this, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would definitely have someone else look after the baby during the op ..... ;-)

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
