Confidence gone
I am new to the club and need some support. I have had a pacemaker for 22 years and live life to the full. 6 weeks ago I had a box change. Things did not go to plan with poor positioning / lead issues. I have just had operation number 4 following ventricular lead being dislodged. Complete collapse and blue lights as I am 100% paced. I work full time / have a 13 year old son / help run a 10 team football club normally. At the moment I am walking around waiting for the pacemaker to fail. How do I get back to the confident active person I was before

You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

I know that sounds trite, but sometimes just forcing ourselves to get back to our normal activities is the answer. The busier we are, the easier it is to push the worries aside. The more normal our schedule is, the less we worry. You had a trauma, it's normal to be affected by it so cut yourself some slack for not immediately feeling your old self again. You've been there before and you'll get there again. {{{hugs}}}
