MIDODRINE for low bp

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has experienced any effects to their pacemaker when taking Midodrine to stabilize orthostatic hypotension.  I read that the medication often speeds up the hr and should  not be taken 3-4 hours before bedtime.  Thanks!

Mitodrine side effects

by TBrous&Chip - 2017-06-21 07:06:11

I was prescribed Mitodrine a few months before receiving my pm.  Most of my test results were not definitive and the doctors hoped the Mitodrine would resolve my fainting problem.

The side effect experience for me was extreme cold with chills after 1 hour of taking the pill lasting for 30 minutes. This happened consistently and  I had to keep a sweatshirt nearby.

Once I forgot and did lay down within 4 hours of taking Mitodrine. The result was a really bad headache and did not feel well that day.  It definitely made me remember to not lay down for 4 hours after taking the Mitodrine.

Thanks for feedback.

By, Midodrine has cured your low bp symptoms?

My doctor said I might feel chills and also get "goose bumps."  He didn't know about the increased hr interaction with my pm, so  I will ask my EP specifically  about that next week.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
