PM Changes Settings

I've had a St Judes PM for a number of years, with little or no problems. My checkups rarely reveal any afib. Now it is reaching the end of its battery life and checkups are now up to quarterly and will soon be monthly, I am sure. For all these years it has been set at 70 with a jump to 80 if I am active. Has worked well. Just recently (last week or so) my monitor shows a HR of 62 and it does not go below that. Nothing has been done to change the rate (that I know of) so I wonder if this is a sign of impending failure and if I should report it. I am scheduled for a check in two weeks.

I welcome any comments.

If you have a home monitor, send a report, if not ask to be seen. It sounds like it switched modes into End of Service where it cuts back on how it works. Some doctors cut it closer than others, sometimes the predictions are off, but if your rate is steady and not going up that's a sure sign it's time to get your new one. This mode lasts approximately 3 months.
