I'm about ready to snap...

So...now that we have the pacemaker in place and I'm slowly getting used to all that comes with that, I'm dealing with my low blood pressure that just sent me to the ER by ambulance a few days ago because I bit it in my livingroom.  Passed right the hell out.

Tried Midodrine twice, and florinef.  I can't take either one.  Florinef made me homicidal, and yesterday's do-over of the midodrine was a nightmare.  I had every side effect imaginable.  Worst of all, it drops my heart rate so I could feel my PM working like crazy to keep up with it.  Never again.

All this to say - I know some people with hypotension take salt pills.  Does anyone here take them and I'm looking for a reccommendation.  I've read some can make you very nauseous.  I'm desperate here.  This stuff is making me so depressed.

Salt intake

A number of doctors have casually suggested I increase my salt intake to help with the hypotension but so far I've avoided doing so. Clearly though my blood pressure is not as low as yours because although I need to be very careful how I stand up, it's never actually caused me to pass out.

Thanks Shaun

I've been doing that, but thought Id try the pills.  Its very frustrating, isn't it?  I wondered if anyone here had luck with any certain brand.

Lori..I was implanted the week after you.  Like you, I'm still adjusting and trying different things in order to feel 'normal' again.  Patience seems to be the word of the day, especially with the depression.  Don't get down on yourself.  Be glad for the positive things the pm has brought to your life and trust in yourself that you'll work out the side effects.  It wll happen, remember, we're all in this together.  Feel free to vent here any time, we're listening.

THANK YOU.  :)  actually, I have an update. For the last few days I've been trying thermotabs and they seem to be working great. No nausea,  no diarrhea (TMI), and I feel really good when I take them. So if any of you are struggling with hypotension drugs and their side effects you might want to give them a try.  I'm going slow with them. I.just started with one. And moving up from there. I'm up to three a day with meals. I was able to knock out an extra mile on my morning walk today even. Thank you for all of the replies and support everyone.
