I had a pacemaker fiitted last year (October 2016) under emergency at a long weekend trip to london and 2 fainting effects thursday on Blackfriars railway station, - exaxctly half way over the Thames. After a cardiac arrest in hospital from a 3 degree heart block I had an emergency op at St Thomas hospital on the saturday to fit a dual chamber pacemaker. I was very anxious after arriving home again at the beginning of the following week even going to A&E twice during the first 3 months. Now I am used to it (I have found it useful to take my own pulse and BP with a Boots machine and am reassurred each time that my heart beat is always above 60 as the device is set to ensure. At each device check the resettings are also more useful and reasurring.I have transfered to my local hospitl and am now awaiting an appointment with a cardiologist for the first time to see what it all means. Hope this is helpful 22/07/2017
