Puls gets to maximum when jogging?

Hi.

I have a problem with my new pacemaker. Medtronic EN1DR01 Ensura DR MRI. When running slow like 6 min per/km the heartrate goes up to maximum, 175 bpm. When runnng intervalls the same 175 bpm, but in this case its natural. When a swim and cycling there is no problem the pulse is equal to 130 bpm. The problem is when running slow and walking, the puls goes up to maximum direct. The pacemaker nurse has did a lot of adjustments and no luck. She thinks the problem are the Accelerometer. She talks about changing my divide to one with double accelerometers ... I do not know but when a decided to implement the pacemaker a explained to the doctor in charge that a train a lot, every day. Has any of you any experiense of this problem. Any tips or ideeas?

talk to the dr not the nurse

The doctor or rep from Medtronic probably has a better understanding of the settings than the nurse. It's also useful sometimes to put you on a treadmill so they can watch what happens in real time, the adjust accordingly.

Tanks. Will do that after the summer. Does anyone know If for there a difference between devices. Are there a device more suited for running?

Any of them should be good for running, it's just a matter of getting the rate response fine tuned. Cycling and activities where you don't move as much are more of a challenge.

I had the same problem, the sensitivity is set high enough that running makes it jump up to max very fast. I did not want to lower the sensitivity because I am trying to get it to work better for cycling (I bike more than I run). My solution for now was to lower my max from 170 to 160. I am 61 and I really do not do intervals anymore and if you go by the 220- your age my max should be right around 160 anyway. 

So for now I am only running 3 miles or so, but I would like to get back up to 5 or 6. Does anyone know if it would be bad for my heart to be running that high for 30 or even 60 min.?
