Pacemaker device check

Dear Friends, I just had My Device  checked today. The Technician told Me I have 9 Years and 1 Month left on My Battery! I had My Biotronik Eluna put in Two Years ago this Fall! The last time They checked it in March, they said pretty much the same thing! The technician said I had some A-fib in May. I asked How long it lasted and He said 6 seconds! I said, How could You tell with something that short? He said everything is recorded and not to worry! Is this normal? I keep a Daily Diary and looked up the Date. Nothing unusual happened that day! Is this normal? I have begun to feel normal, since I am out 10 months since My Heart By-Pass! I am now thinking about thewhole A-fib thing. Any Advice? I would appreciate any comments, Thanks, Pastor Mike

10 months since by-pass is the statute of limitations on worrying about this stuff and time to start living again.

Ignore the battery life thing, it's only important when the battery dies. They cannot accurately predict the life, especially when your device is somewhat fresh. My doctor will only tell patients when they are in need of replacement. Saves a lot of stress on everyone.

Even a perfectly healthy heart throws temper tantrums periodically and we shoot arrhythmias. It is perfectly normal to feel or not feel when we have arrhythmias. I'd say I know about half the time when I shoot PVCs, SVTs, V-Tach and so on. I don't ever feel when I have ATP therapy so don't let that throw you. The real concern with A-Fib is a slightly higher risk of throwing a blood clot, but at 6 seconds no big deal.

Relax, read your bible, pray, and remember when the guy up above says your warranty is up, you'll know it. Arrhythmias are God's way of letting us know we are still alive

good reply (the real patch) for all of us. Live your life and enjoy every second.  Worrying about it won't change anything except increase your stress level. The more you talk about it the more you worry those around you. Smile, laugh and enjoy.  Get out and exercise or walk. You have nothing to lose😁.

i wonder what the age is of the oldest living  Pacer recipient?

Exercise

by Denny - 2017-09-05 03:05:02

i am exercising 33 minutes on an octane fitness machine in my garage.  My heart rate goes to 210 to 215.

I also have been riding my bike 45 minutes a day but am tired by dinner time. Started eating more salads, quit drinking alcohol, quit cocktail time treats. Have lost weight, feel great. But am pretty active during the day doing others things. Get dizzy when getting up from a prone position. Wondering if exercising program is too much. Had my Pacer for 20 months. Just added my bike exercise for 7 weeks. Need more answers as I am now getting serious about having a pacemaker and wanting to live longer.  Read a book Younger Next Year and became motivated to have good health. Have to laugh as I am 75 and should have done this at 50 or 60.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
