Does anyone know if a pacemaker can cause high levels of metal in the blood and what would be the appropriate blood test to take for finding this out? Thanks for your help.

Blood Contamination

Hey James,
A pacemaker case is made of titanium. Blood has an almost neutral pH (7.4) and is not likely to react with titanium. However, if you really want to see if your blood is being contaminated with titanium find a laboratory that can test for trace amounts of metals.
Back during my days of working we did testing for metals with a mass spectrometer. However, that was almost 20 years ago and methods for such testing probably have changed by now.
Good luck,
Smitty
