Metropolol and neck pain

I have not been here in a long while.First was my wife was here with  several complications with AFib and finally an AV block and Pacemaker. We both have Medtronic Pacermakers, mine for low heart rate.

in May and June I became dizzy on golf course and pretty much 'out of it' with my agressive 84 year old life style. So cardio did treadmill and said I have SVT and put me on Metropolol 50 er.  Its been wonderful with now playing a full 18 holes and no dizzyeness.

But lately I have noticed  a lot of neck pain and in reading its a side effect of Metropolol.

I noted a google search showed this forum as possible place to discuss and with all the good  I have now with Metropolol, don't know if this neck issue is something to be concerned about it getting worse. Or just live with it, do neck exercises and take Aleve!

I would be intererested in any thoughts or concerns. Don't see this as issue to get back involve with the cardiologist right now.

Thanks, Bob

Neck pain, Metoprolol

Neck pain is not a side effect of Metoprolol, most likely is the wear and tear of your cervical spine (arthritis). Neck exercises and a non steroid anti-inflammatory drugs like the one you are already taking is OK. Metoprolol slows down the heart and lowers the blood pressure. Therefore the most frequent side effects are related to those actions on the heart. People usually complain of sedation, lack of energy, slow pulse, low blood pressure with lighthedeness, weakness, feeling tired. Metoprolol seems to be helping you.

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
