WEEK 14 - STILL STRUGGLING VERSION 2

So last night (Tuesday) at 5:45 I felt like crap.   My heart was pounding and had SOB.  I went up to bed and then BANG .... An anxiety attack and hyperventilation..... my breathing was just horrible.

Called 911 and got to the ER by ambulance at about 6:45.

By about 9:00 I  had calmed down and my breathing was back to normal.

All tests, EKG, troponum, and all blood work was normal.  There was a Medtronic tech in the hospital  checked the PM and it was fine ... set at 55 BPM with pacing 3% on the top and 1% on the bottom.

Now the problem... in that I had private insurance they could easily admit me vs. put me on observation.

In a room by 10 PM, my roomy had his TV on all night, lights on and off ... I had the nurse get me ear plugs and they helped on a little

This morning a doc from my cardiologists office came in around 10:30 and said I could go home.... but admitting doctor was not  around to sign me out .... I was pissed.

I called my insurance company UHC  and asked if they cover costs if I checked myself out .... yes.

Signed the "Against Medical Advice" and walked out.  Same hospital that did the PM on May 27th .. at that time they were great... this time terrible.

Got home, heart was pounding.

Needed to take a pill from pill box and "stupid is that stupid does, I hadn't put my blood pressure meds in the pill box. So no meds Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Duh dummy

The good news is I asked for a psyc consult and I found a psychiatrist in the hospital that I licked and will go to see him soon so that he can work on the Zoloft meds.

That's all folks.

You have far more problems than anyone here can help you with if you are licking psychiatrists.

Panic disorder

You had a burst of panic attack, not related to your PM or your heart. Signing out (against medical advice) after having been admitted as a life and death emergency, souds a little bit off. That's why most general hospitals seem unsympathetic towards psychiatric patients.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
