Lead extraction

Hi Guys, I posted prior to my lead extraction, now I'm a week and half post extraction:

The lead extraction and replacement was successful, much more involved than I remember initially having pm inplamted 8 ago. Actually one was to be replaced but as I was on the table the other lead also showed "noise ", so both were replaced. I wanted the pm replaced in order not to go through it in 3 yrs, battery life left. The dr did put in MRI compatible leads, st Jude. Side note, wish I had been put to sleep prior to being wheeled in the OR, very stressful!

afterward , week check some pain and some difficulty breathing, did an echo/ ultra sound, trace fluid in the sac around the heart, I think pericardial infusion? Probably from surgery, leads taken out etc.

feeling better now, going in tomorrow for another check.

ps battery life went down down a whole year with new settings and leads. FYI

Thanks for the  periodic updates on your dealing with this issue and your final extraction.  Lead extraction is something we all hope won't be neccesary but definately should be educated about.  Now with your MRI compatible leads you shoud be ok if the need for an MRI ever presents itself.
