Sudden change in my % pacing (ventricular)

Hi, All:

I have had Medtronic pace maker since 2013. My % pacing (ventricular) was 0.4%. Yesterday, I found that  my % pacing (ventricular) is 99.6%. !  I am shorcked about this sudden change. I have been felling well.

Is it common? What might causes such change? What does it mean about my heart?

Thanks!

pacing

If you are suddenly pacing ventricular a lot, it means your heart is in heart block most of the time, where the signal doesn't go from the atria to the ventricles. Did they change the settings? That can change the numbers or sometimes things with the heart just change. You've already got the fix in place and you feel good, so there's no need to worry, but it's worth a discussion with your doctor.

Progressive dependence on being paced

Your post in 2013 indicated you had your pace maker inserted due to syncope and  a RBBB total heart   block.  I had a LBBB and also experienced a progression to 99.9% in two years after getting my pace maker..  You feel well and that is an indication a your pace maker is doing it's job.  Heart blocks do have a tendancy to progress with time, but I ca't  explain why your pacing was so very low when you had a total block.  Perhaps some other members can enlighten us??

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
