Another er trip

Well today I was in er again. Last night felt hot and sudden nausea.  I had vomiting which went away. Went to bed and woke up hot feeling again. Just didn't feel normal. Went to er with hot feeling, fuzzy headed, and some off and on pain under left breast. ER does xray,  ekg, pacer check,  blood, and urine.  Tests come back all good. Nothing found. Has anyone else had this? Obviously I am now wondering if I am having anxiety or something.  Doctor diagnosed me with possible food poison or viral infection.  Will the worry wart syndrome I have developed ever go away?

A sleep study was done when I was admitted to the hospital. Nothing was abnormal. As for menopause I'm not sure. I am still regular. This is all new to me and I don't want anything to be wrong. Today they found nothing. Anxiety can cause same things I guess.

A lot of us made multiple trips to the ER during our first year.  You are not alone or abnormal! Everything feels so different and anything that seems off is cause for concern until we know our "new normal" a bit better.  It took me 14 months to feel really well after getting my PM. Now I feel great but it was a process.  I think you did the right thing going to the ER. Your symptoms mimicked those that you experienced before your PM was implanted.  Plus you vomited. Some of your symptoms sounded like a heart attack to me.  We have a friend about your age (mid-30s) and he had a heart attack at about age 27. Not overweight, no high BP but he did have high cholesterol.  You just never know unless you get checked.  Don't second guess yourself. Just expect that this is not unusual and you may end up there again.  Eventually, your body and mind will settle down.  I am thankful each day that such a device exists. Welcome to the Club!! Niecey

Thanks

I asked them numerous times if I was having a heart attack. They assured me not. But hopefully in time I'm better. I came to a costume party tonight to try to ease the stress

Samw thing happened to me....

Hi Mugz, I had PM implant Feb this year. Have suffered with anxiety and panic attacks since.....never suffered previously. Ended up in hospital in July with very similar symptoms to you...all tests negative. Chalked it up as a panic attack. Been off work since July until last week as suffering with stress, anxiety etc. I went back to work 15 days post op....working away from home....300mile drive each way....realise now that was way too soon to return! Having had time off and time to accept my condition I feel sooooo much better. Anxiety has passed along with accompanying symptoms. I accept that may return in times of stress, but at least now I know my triggers and won't be as scared if and when it happens again.

You've gotta give yourself time to adjust. It will get better. Since having my PM I am the fittest and most active I've ever been. I don't let it rule my life ...I just get on with it now and allow myself time to rest and switch off when required. I now listen to my body and act accordingly. Hope you feel better soon. 💜

This might sound daft ...

... but I had similar symptoms about six months after I had heart surgery and then the pacemaker: sweating, dizziness and nausea, and I wondered heart attack too.  Took myself off to the Emergency Departent, and many tests later, including ECG, X-Ray of chest, bloods etc, the verdict was: dehydration!  I looked back on that day and realised I had been really busy with work, flitting from one thing to another, and hadn't drunk much fluids.  I didn't feel particularly thirsty before the "event" either.  This was about 2 and a half years ago, and I am also on "water tablets" (Furosemide / Lassix and Spironolactone in small doses).

Obviously since then I make sure I drink plenty!

Dehyrdration

Dehyrdration was on the list too. I'm trying to get back to normal. There are also so many bugs going around too. I so feel a little better today.  Not so much anxiety. Just taking it day by day.
