Passed out

Strange thing happened Sunday night. For the first time in 4 years I passed out. When I finally came to, and my wife was able to help me up. I think I was out a minute or so took another couple minutes before I realized where I was and what happened. About another minute or two before I was able to get up. Than off to the ER for 2 hours. They could find nothing, went to my cardiologist yesterday. She could find nothing doing a tilt table next week, my cardiologist is trying to get me into a arrhythmia specialist. I am a runner, well slow runner I did have a couple high heart rates lately, one was hr of 170-196 for 30 minuets but I was running . I just never had anything that high for that long before. I guess I am guess posting because I haven't for awhile, cardiologist said it was ok to run just don't push it. Ran 4 slow miles today watching my rate when it  started going up I just slowed down..... I guess I will have to wait with luck something will show up, passing out is still no fun !!!

Passed out

Hi Wjs1954, I nearly passed out last Tuesday, just felt like a skip when bad vertigo(=room spun) then everything went kind of white. I felt my pulse , it was pretty fast. When. Was able to walk I did a download. The tech called me(=after I called to ask if I was in afib( I have had one attack of that) So, he said I had an Non Sustained ventricular tachycardia.3 seconds. About 12 beats. Saw Dr on Monday, he said that I was fine, I could up my metoprolol , but I don't want to do that. I told him I was scared to have it again while driving especially, he said, like your Dr that if I had it again, call them if I didn't die!! Did not want to do a Cath or a EP study. So.... Robin, has now kind of scared me.now. I am afraid to be alone. But, have to realize, everybody's heart can stop for no reason. I wanted to ask you , did you have any warning? I also have a pacemaker for SSS and pauses. But never passed out. Never even knew about pauses. I am schedule ing an MRI too!!Takes forever!!Been waiting a month now! One other question, are you paced 100 percent?? I wish you good luck, and I am just gonna wait and hope I will not have the NSVT Again!! ( Hope you have something easy to fix) God Bless!!

SSS

I received my pacemaker about 3 1/2 years ago for SSS and HR was very slow. I had passed out maybe 1/2 dozen times over maybe 5 or so years pr9to getting the PM. Sunday was the first time that I have passed out after receiving it. I was at home I do remember years ago when I passed out I felt it coming on, just a strange feeling than down I would go. This time no warning just down to the floor, I guess luckily the bath I added down stairs is small. I didn't have enough room to even hit me head on the floor.  Anyway my cardiologist said she was going to refer to a EP. That was Monday when I didn't get a call from the EP I called them today and was told My DR never contacted them. So called my DR the girls in the office said the cardiologist didn't do her office notes yet but would, not to worry. So now I guess I don't worry,  2 years ago cardiologist was going to refer me to a EP and forgot, oh well. Life goes on. Now  cardiologist is going on vacation for a week pretty sure starting tomorrow hopefully she did her paperwork today....And to answer your question I think I  am only paced about 30%...

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
