Sleepless nights

Hi all you pacers out there, just wondering if any of you are having a hard time sleeping?  I feel so restless, nervous. Has any of you been experiencing this. This has been a rough recovery for me. I am 32 days post pacemaker, shouldn't I be feeling better? Getting concerned. Maybe Iam not giving myself enough time. Restless soul.

sleepless nights

I experienced a period of sleepless nights as well and at approx the same time post implant. It's been 7 weeks for me now and I am fianlly feeling better. I can relate to the exhausted feeling..too tired to cope with normal activities, almost too tired to get thru the day.

I can relate to sleepless nights, wondering and worrying about this "thing" in the left side of my chest. tired during the day and lay awake at night. Went to my doctor about it and his suggestions.....get some excersise, which for me was highly doable. I purchased a used treadmill and eliptical trainer. Started out slowly and in no time my stamina to be able to do the excersise increased dramatically. It has become a daily routine now. The doctors second suggestion was to take the meds (Verapamil for me) in the evening at dinner time rather than when I was taking it at breakfast. One of the possible side effects of Verapamil is tiredness and fatigue.

7 weeks post implant and feeling so much better., sleeping so much better now, easily getting 7-8 hours of good sleep a night.

As others have mentioned, I too have sleep apnea and use a CPAP. Might be good to get yourself checked for that if you have not yet.

Hope this might help for you as well.

Thanks everyone! for letting me know that I am not alone. I also had bradycardia passed out 5 times in less than a year. Had some bad accident, one where I broke my. Hand. I have had sleep apnea for 10 yrs plus now. I wear a mask. I have heart disease for 10 yrs. I am so thankful for the pacemaker club. I am always checking for the replies. Thanks again for the encouragement! God bless.
