New pacemaker help

Hi, I am very new to this I am 6 days post op. I went home the day after surgery and havent felt good since. I have a "pulse" in my stomach, very strong it looks like I have a baby kicking inside my stomach. My BP is now 150/110 which I was always normal pre-op. My heart rate runs around 86 but I feel the pounding all the time, the kicking is worse when I am sitting, so I dont sit now. I have 3 calls into my Dr. The nurse called back last week I told her what was happening, she said she would talk to the Dr. Well, as of now still no call back. I called again this morning and still nothing.

My question is, has anyone else felt this after implantation? I am getting more and more worried but dont want to go to the ER. I have LBBB, CHF, very low EF, heart failure. I truley felt better prior implant. Any advice would be so helpful. Thank you

If you are scared and font know what to do, go to the ER.... let you doctor know and ask him/her to meet you there.

When in doubt, there is no doubt....

Diaphramatic Pacing

While it is not harmful, it can be very uncomfortable as you know.

Lowering the voltage may help but it is also possible a lead is misplaced.  Try and stay calm, (easier said than done sometimes, I know).  I had the same diagnoses as you.

Your doctor is not listening to you.....been there, done that.  For me, that meant it was time to find a new doctor.  Some doctors think because you are new to being paced, you must be wrong or they think you are just scared, even though they have never been paced.  In any case, get it checked out and corrected.

Find a new doctor who will listen to you.....priceless.

Spasms under the diaphragm

I feel for you. I went through the same thing. I am 32 days post pacemaker if I get really tired I still get this. Please rest this will get better. it really take a while to start to feel better, couldn't get my doctors to listen to me. even went to the Er didn't get any help there either. Please rest that's the best thing you can do for yourself. I would like to Thank the Lady who took the time to explain what that is that we are experiencing. I went through that for about two weeks. I still have mild episodes if I get tired. Hang in there. it gets better I promise.

thank you

Thank you all who gave advice, it has helped me calm down. My son just went to the Dr.s office to talk to them as they still haven't called me back. The very same nurse just told him she will talk to the Dr and call us back, so still no answer. I will go to the ER tonight if I don't hear from them as I got no sleep last night at all. Thank you for sharing your own experiances and helping me get through this..

I had similar issues and it turned out the lead had actually perforated the heart wall. I'd love to hear how yours turned out brandys58. Hope you're well.

Baby Kicking

I experienced something very similar when I first got my latest pacemaker.  I would feel the "baby kicking" when I was lying on my right side and had my left arm laying against the left side of my body.  The good news is that the feeling went away.  I'm not quite 3 months post op now, and I don't think I've felt it for 4 - 6 weeks.  My guess is that this feeling will subside for you as well as things start to settle into place.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
