Scar appearance

Hi!  I would not recommend looking at pictures of other’s scars as we are all different.  I think after a week, my swelling was going down.  Believe it took about 3 weeks for the bruising to go away and not look so ugly.  Now, three years later, I have a pencil thin scar and my PM maybe protrudes about 1/16 of an inch. Not bad at all considering it allows me to live my life in an active manner.

it took me awhile to accept my PM but when I finally did, I realized that if you have to have a medical issue, be grateful that it is a “fixable” one, like a PM.  Good luck to you with recovery and feel free to ask me any other questions you may have.

Three weeks and it looks fine, no bruising or inflammation, with just a couple of ridges.

Everyone is different and the surgery we have had will leave most of us with some form of reminder on our bodies but I'm just grateful that I'm not knocking on Deaths door any more.

Any 'imperfection' caused by the PM is not anything I'll worry about now or in the future.

The PM has given most of us a second chance and for that I'm grateful for Medical expertise and knowledge and hope that you and I appreciate that fact.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
