Ventricular paced from 11% to 100%

I had a check up today, 5 months out on a dual lead ICD for 2:1 block. I felt great the first day and was paced 67% while having the block,  then didn't have the block and went to 4%. Don't know why the block went away. not feeling much better since the first few days. Dr. changed settings today to pace ventrical 100%. Said some pts. with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, respond better to v- pacing. anyone hear of this?

v pacing

Do you have hypertrophic myopathy? With av block, the pacer is usually reacting, not setting the pace. If the atria beats, the pacer gives the ventricles a fraction of a second to keep up,if they don't then it kicks in with pacing. It's possible you vary in how often you are in block, so sometimes you do fine on your own (11%) and sometimes not so much (100%). They can adjust the delay, how long the pacer gives the heart to beat on its own. A shorter delay will mean more pacing.  What works best varies for each of us. Don't get too caught up in the numbers and don't be surprised when it varies. If you feel good, then you are pacing the right amount. It's not uncommon to adjust a few times to find the right balance.
