Pacemaker

I want to begin by saying how happy I am to have discovered this club. I am learning so much and so many of my questions are being answered.

I'm a 55 year old female. I received my pacemaker in July 2017 for complete heart block.

In December while having my check up it was discovered one of my leads had malfunctioned. I ended up having another surgery to have it replaced.

I'm almost 5 weeks post op and wanting to continue my yoga, however I've been hearing that there are some postures that can damage the leads. Would love to hear what you think, and also when it would be safe to begin.

One more thing, I've been having fluttering around the area of my pm. I can see it pulsating, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen.

Don't Worry About It

My doctor said it's possible some exercises can eventually damage the leads. One patient did so doing pull ups.

I exercise regularly and figure I won't know what breaks my leads until I break them, so I just continue weight lifting, etc. until something happens!

I wouldn't worry about it unless the doctor explicitly says, "Don't do THIS."

Yoga

Hi I just joined this group today and am so hopeful. I had my pacemaker placed just 5 days ago so I am healing at the moment.

But in the process of looking around this site, I found a post by Gail Picken-Barger, a yoga teacher who has a Facebook support group for people with pacemakers who do yoga. I found her page and have requested to join the group. maybe this can help if you have not found anything else since you posted.
