Power Tools & Pacemaker

Hey Tick Tock,

You should be able to use any power hand tool, corded or
cordless, without harm to your pacemaker. The electromagnetic field from any of these tools should be too weak to cause a problem. Since some pacemakers can have a mind of their own, for a little extra precaution, you should keep all such tools and cell phones at least 6 inches from your pacemaker.

In the extremely rare event you do encounter an EMF that can affect your pacemaker you would probably notice it as skipped, or irregular heart beats. If you ever suspect your PM is being affected by an EMF simply move away form the area or device and your pacemaker will return to normal operation in about a minute, or less, with no harm done to it.

Our electric hedge trimmer makes me feel weak in the chest so I never use it now. This is my warning that I am affected by EMF'S. I soon got to know my limitations and the up side was I was excused from some duties!!!!! All the best
