MRI

The pm rep comesand puts it in MRI safe mode----I'm pretty sure they don't shut it off, or I would have felt horrible since I'm 100% paced.  When you're finished, the pm rep comes back and puts it back to the original settings.  Takes a few minutes.  My first MRI was not that big of a deal.  The 2nd MRI I had, at a different hospital, made it a big deal.  No problems, though.

MRI scans

by LondonAndy - 2018-01-31 17:30:23

I had an MRI in October last year.  Just as Island Girl says, a tech put my PM in basic mode, then returned it to normal mode afterwards.

It took me 2.5 years to get my scan here in UK, as radiographers are scared of doing harm, which used to be a bigger problem but has much reduced with the current generation of pacemakers that are  'MRI conditioned' (my pacemaker is 3 years old and has this).  I felt nothing bad at all during the scan, and I asked the tech afterwards if they ever have problems now, and he said no.
