Sore Shoulder

Hello Pacer friends...

its weird how I feel like no one understands or will be able to relate to this question but possibly one of you.

I have a dual chamber pacemaker placed for complete heart block (Aug 2016).  I really haven’t had any issues so far.  I’ve been working out almost every day, trying to get in shape for a wedding this Spring and have been doing lots of short workouts.  They’re only about 30 minutes per day... either upper body, lower body- lots of variety at to the different workouts.  Last week I tried a few YouTube workout videos that included a little tougher workouts than I had been doing.  I was “feeling the burn” while working out more than normal.  I also have been jogging 2-3 times a week.  Last week I did two 17ish minute exercise video workouts and then ran 30 minutes.  I’ve done this many times before and really wasn’t sore, but these workouts were a little harder.

The next day, my left shoulder was SORE!! Down my back, down my front, down my side.  It hurt to use my left arm at all and especially lift it.  It felt similar to the feeling right after implant where it felt like someone punched me in the shoulder.  This continued for 3 days.  I finally took some ibuprofen last night and put a heated cherry pit bag on it at night.  It is much better today!  Not completely back to normal, but I think it will get there.  Also, my right shoulder was kind of achy too and I just felt drained.  I’m not sure what was going on... It’s so hard to know sometimes if “I’m okay”.

I do have a Boston Scientific monitoring system and I did push the heart button yesterday to send in a report.  I have an appointment with a device specialist in a couple weeks so I will ask them about it then.

Any thoughts ??

A pacemaker suddenly quitting is no more likely to happen than you are to be struck by lightening.
