Pins and needles/numbness

After having my PM fitted november 2016 I experienced a lot of pins and needles / numbness around my body. I put this down to stress and shock etc after having the operation. All seemed to clear over the months following the implant apart from my left leg around the knee and lower thigh area. Anyone experienced anything similar? I have kind of got used to it now but the sensation is there most of the time except if I am walking etc. My blood pressure is around 125/90, slightly high but I am not concerned about it. My heart rate is usually in the 80's at rest but can drop into the 70s. My GP has no idea (no surprise there).

Not always the pacemaker

Not every symptom we experience after we get a pacemaker can be attributed to it

We still have a whole body that things can go wrong with, whether we have a pacemaker or not. I doubt if a pacemaker could have anything to do with pins and needles in the knee area. The nerves that supply the leg are simply nowhere near it.

About your heart rate fluctuation. Your heart rate is supposed to go up and down. Higher when you're moving. Lower when you are at rest. I would expect a GP to know that.

Your pacemaker will let your heart speed up on its own--if it can. But it won't let your heartrate fall past a certain point. The next time you have an interrogation ask what your base rate is set at. That will tell you the lowest the pacemaker will let your heart rate fall to.

My PM is set at 60bpm.

I wondered about the pins and needles as I had them all over my body more or less when I had the implant. Everything cleared apart from the left knee area.  Leading up to the PM implant I had visitied my GP a few times as I was experiencing pain in my lower left side, kidney area I think? My GP insisted I had pulled a muscle even though I knew this was not the case. Looking back it was probably the first signs of my heart not beating enough? I read on here somewhere that It can and will affect the organs in the body.

I am tomorrow for the Boston Scientific recall. Fingers crossed my unit is ok.
