New ICD and still symptomatic, please help!

Hello! I'm new here and glad to see that people have a place here to ask questions! On 1/29/18, I received a biventricular ICD to treat my dilated cardiomyopathy.  My EF was around 20%.  The doctor was unable to complete the procedure, so the 3rd lead was not implanted and I have an appt with another doctor next month.  Of course, I am very disappointed that this long process is still not over for me. Anyway, initially, I was feeling as if I were breathing better, but for the last 2 weeks or so, I have been short of breath and dizzy, with swollen feet and legs.  I was told to check my BP, elevate my feet when I can, watch my salt intake, etc...I was told that it could be the Lisinopril that I take. Before the procedure, I was bumped up to 40 mg, daily, from 20. So, I backed my meds back to 20 mg and found my BP and heart rate in the normal range, however, I was still dizzy.  So, for the last 2 days, I haven't taken the lisinopril and my BP is in the normal range: 106/71, heart rate of 71.  Only thing is, I'm still having the same symptoms!!  I take Metformin and Carvedilol. I was already told that the missing lead would help, but  it wouldn't cause me to have these types of symptoms. It sounds more like a medication issue, not a device issue. What should I do?  I didn't have this procedure done to only wind up feeling the same way!!!  Has anybody else gone through this? Please help!!

Let the new doctor's office know your symptoms...SOB, dizzy, swollen feet and legs.  The third lead WILL help.

If it were me, I wouldn't be happy waiting a month.  Was the first doctor an EP?  If yes, why isn't he trying again?  Why is he passing you off?  Unanswered questions.

Make sure the new doctor is an EP.  If you don't get anywhere, seek another opinion/ doctor.

Thanks for responding!  I was under the impression that the 1st doctor was an EP, maybe not! The second doctor is most definitely an EP and did 2 fellowships at JOHNS HOPKINS! I wish I met him first... I have contacted his office and they said if they get a cancellation, they will work me in.  I also just told them of these symptoms, maybe they can help me, faster!

Are they making you wait a month because they are going to do an epicardial lead now for that 3rd wire?

You know you're wired when...

You have a maintenance schedule just like your car.
