Feeling back to normal.

How long after implantation does it take before you feel back to normal? I still feel fatigue four weeks later. Randy

Four weeks?

Looking at your bio, which says your pacemaker was implanted in 2008, four 4 weeks recovery doesn't compute.

Is there more to your story?

Should be pretty soon

Hi Randy,

I am on my fourth pm and have found that normally you feel back to normal pretty soon after surgery. I mean of course you’ll definitely not feel yourself after surgery, nobody does but about a week, counting on that you don’t have any other med issues, that initial surgery shock should be over. If now at four weeks however, you still feel fatigued, I would speak to your doctor. He may just need to tweek your pm settings. Tweeking pm settings can often help with lessening fatigue. Also, try to get back to normal routines, stay active as much as you can but get rest when you need it.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
