Heart pausing

Hi. I've had a pacemaker now for 11 years. This was inserted because I have wenkebach mobitz second degree heart block. I already had a battery change 3 years ago. Lately I have felt my heart pausing at night . It beats afew beats then pauses. I have a device that will record and analise my heart rate and rhythm .. I very rarely record my heart but the other night I couldn't sleep due to this heart beat feeling.. It kept disturbing my sleep. So I done several recordings the following day I sent my recordings off for reviews as they all looked abnormal.. The reports came back saying the ecg shows that my heart is pausing for more than 2 secs . Atrial pauses and that I have a heart block.. I'm abit confused as this is what the pacemaker is for... To stop the pauses.. Has anyone else had this

go see your cardiologist

Do you have one or two leads? If you have one lead, it can't pace atrial. If you have a dual lead, the pacer shouldn't allow sinus pauses. If you originally got it for block rather than sinus pauses, it's possible it just needs the settings adjusted. It's time to talk to your doctor, see what is up.

what brand?

Your info says medtronic, both prior and current pacers?  Your current one wouldnt happen to be a boston scientific would it?

In any case, see the doc, get a holter.  I had similar issues recently (on pacer number five never had any real issues with pacers until this one)  they made an adjustment and fixed it, but then later I saw that boston scientific has a bug (describing your/my symptom), so wondering if that was the real issue.

Go see the doc...Not just the bedside box sending its data.

Please update when you/they figure this out.  Good luck they should be able to tune this so it doesnt happen.

Heart pausing

Hi I recently posted in here that my heart was pausing despite having a pacemaker. I have a medtronic advisa implanted 2015 for 2nd degree heart block. An ecg was taken and my heart is pausing 3 seconds every 8 beats for an hour then back to normal... So today I've been to the pacer clinic.. The techs have changed the settings so my heart doesn't drop no lower than 60 beats.. They have also downloaded my readings and informed me they are sending it all off to the manufacturer . Should I be concerned ?

You know you're wired when...

You always have something close to your heart.
