Higher blood pressur

I had surgery 3 days ago and since I got the pacemaker I have had a spike in my blood pressure, I am on medication for high blood pressure but the numbers have gotten very high, is this normal and will it adjust in time. I was under the impression that it would lower it. Has anyone else experienced this. I also have shoulder pain.

So my husband just had his pacemaker put in Thursday. Saturday when we were home his blood pressure spiked with readings of 170/101, 158/93 so we called doc office  they upped his blood pressure pill from 50 to 100. Wull see what happens next.
