Pacemaker

Interested in the health of others with a long term history of pacing. I've  had a pacemaker since 29 due to brachycardia and now am 57. Daily fatigue has returned. You know the kind- not I'm tired - I'm so tired I can barely move. Had all the usual tests, blood, stress, heart efficiency.  I gave no other underlying health issues. Heck, this is why I got the pacemaker in the first place!

One pacemaker in 30 years?

Am I reading your post right? You have had only ONE pacemaker in almost 30 years?

The average battery life of a pacemaker is about 10 years, though sometimes it's shorter or longer. If you're having the same symptoms as before, I'm thinking your battery could be run down and you might be due for a replacement.

See your cardiologist. Soon.

If your pacer is pacing, your heart is otherwise healthy and has normal function, then something else is going on. Rule out cardiac then talk to your GP. It's possible to develop other heart problems after so many years, but they'd show up in the echo and stress test. Ditto Robin's advice about sleep apnea, it seems to be more common in heart patients.

You know you're wired when...

You need to be re-booted each morning.
