GERD and PM

hellow fellow pacers.  I need help finding info on non-medication treatments for GERD. I had to fire my gastro.  She simply ignored my reminding her I was a PM patient when she referred me for Linx surgery for the GERD and I reminded her it was not safe for PM's.  The Linx website says is contraindicated in PM patients. She could have read it herself if she didn't believe me.  Sigh.  I am keeping my appt. w/ surgeon to ask him about other options but feel I'd better read up as much as possible.  My trust levels in the med industry took a nosedive. My Medtroic dual chamber is MRI compatible.

Any info is appreciated.  Thank you.

ask your cardiologist

Have you talked to your cardiologist? Or called Medtronic? I'm not sure what Linx surgery is, but there are a lot of procedures/technologies that used to be unsafe but are ok now, or things that people outside cardiology think are questionable but the cardiologists are ok with. It's worth a try! Good luck.

Other Surgical Options

I would not happily cover my chest with fridge magnets !

For the same reason I would not undergo a Linx procedure which involves implanting magnetic beads to prevent acid reflux.

Assuming that none of the usual GERD drugs have worked for you I would happily undergo other surgical procedures which can be done. I believe that these can be minimally invasive and don't involve magnets,

Best of luck
