My dr has told me that my heart is working fine no ,restrictions dont know what he means...by that ...anyway why do all theme parks have the safety warnings with like you should not ride heart conditions?  Has anyone here gone into rides? I feel mu pulse changing the last time I got into a ride ..I just want to make sure my heart will be ok during the rides I miss going with my kids...please help

Theme park Rides

Difficult one, i know some of the rides involve pulling down a safety bar onto your chest, i guess you would probably need to be careful with that wound and box area.

But i guess the best and most sensible thing to do would be to discuss this with your pacemaker clinic.

Hope this helps..

If your doc said no restrictions, he probably meant no restrictions! If in doubt, you can call and ask. My doc is ok with it. I've had either a Disney or Universal annual pass for years so I ride often.

Most rides don't have harnesses that push on most pacers, but I've heard of it happening if your placement is very shallow. It's not going to damage anything, but you might get bruised. Pacers are titanium, they're a lot tougher than we are. But I've never found a ride where it was an issue for me.

Pulse changing is probably rate response kicking in.

Most theme parks have those exclusions because they dont want to get sued.  In the old days, pacemakers were much more fragile as well.

if just returning, I would work your way up.  Personally I have my Pacemaker for Neurocardiogenic Syncope, so I avoid them as my condition is strongly impacted by g forces.

I know of teenagers with pacemakers who ride all ride all the coasters and ar just fine.  Just be smart about it.

Hey! I’m 21 and have had mum pacemaker for a decade now. I have gone on every ride I have ever come across. Even ones that so no pacemakers as I didn’t realise till after and I was fine. Lots of them say no heart conditions but I think this is just because they don’t want to get in trouble if someone ends up hurt. I wouldn’t recommend going on ones that specifically say no pacemakers, but I have only come across 2 rides that say that. And I accidentally went on one of them so...

I think it’s just health and safety why they say it! Just be safe and careful but I have never had any problems :)

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
