Arm pain

Hello all. I havent been on in a little while. I am questioning arm pain. I have the St Jude pacemaker, dual lead for 2nd degree heartbloc in Oct 2017. I have had lots of anxiety issues since. A couple weeks ago I was in the er again, but I had bronchitis.  They did draw blood, and do ecg, and heart is perfect. My concern is, I get sporadic left arm pain since. It sometimes is in the shoulder area, or in upper arm (inside part, above elbow). Sometimes it is a dull ache, while other it is stabbing. I do go to physical therapy again next Tuesday. But wondering if this has happened to anyone else. By the way there is no redness, swelling, or vein changes. I just dont understand why the pain is happening. I dont recall injuring my arm any time. But I guess it is possible. It is just making my anxiety crazy. Thanks all

Thank you for your reply. It keeps me calm knowing there are others who understand me. I will see what the therapist says Tuesday. It just seems like since I got my pacer I have not been the same. I take it day by day. Some days are better than others.

Are you ever scared? I guess since my diagnosis was missed within a 48 hour oeripei never trust doctors. I go to them so often now but no matter how many times they tell me my heart is great I feel everything is a sign of heart attack. My arm pain for example, it comes and goes and has been for two weeks now but sometimes it's worse. My pulse is normal during the pain. Do you think I could be giving myself panic attacks when the arm is hurting? As for cycle, yes I have noticed I am.more worrisome the week before and during. I just want to live again. That's all

Stress test

You say your doctors tell you that your heart is great.  Opinion is one thing; facts are another.  Have you undergone a cardiac stress test?  If not, recommend asking a cardiologist to conduct one.  You may want to go to a different doctor to gain a more objective appraisal.

Anxiety can make your situation worse.  Ask about things you can do, even low dose anxiety meds for a while, that can help you regain self confidence and build for the future.  A regular group exercise program helps and you meet new friends.

Good luck.

I did do cardiac stress test. Passed with flying colors. They even typed me a letter saying there's no cardio issues and to live my life. I was at my PCP today and I will be starting Lexapro to ease anxiety. It's getting out of control. I am always at the doctor. Copays add up. Try it out and see what happens

Great!
