Anyone hear of this one?

Hey all, I've been dealing with a new complication. Anyone ever hear of, or have a blockage in the subclavian vein? Evidently this is the newest blockage I've developed. It has been causing steadily worsening symptoms of swelling in my arm and hand, bulging veins, and severe pain. Another venogram is scheduled. Dr.'s can't figure out why I keep developing blockages. Been in and out of the ER. Also found out my pacemaker has moved. Not been a good couple of weeks!

bambi,
There may be a connection between the pacer having moved and the blockage. The pacer leads go into the subclavian vein so if it moved the leads could be putting pressure on the vein and squeezing it off. I'm surprised the venogram is just scheduled. I would think this would be an emergency and it would be done immediately.

i understand

Hey, im having the same problem. It took them 3 months to find it and they found my clot with the venogram. Im now on blood thinner xarelto for about a month now and feel much better. They waited to long my chest was black and blue and i have all kinds of crazy veins poppng up all over my shoulder and chest. Doc said should go away when clot clears but we will see. Best wishes to u.
