Pacemaker with wire assisted lumpectomy

I have talked to my surgeon and I will need a wire assisted lumpectomy  needed next month. She mentioned something about getting a release from my cardiologist because of the cauterization  I believe. I'm 97% paced now, and was wondering if any one else have had  this done done? As if the lumpectomy and severe anaphylactic allergic reactions I have, this was just "adding insult to injury"!!!

Talk about adding insult to injury, for sure! You've had more than your share.

Cauterization can be a problem for us so for sure have the surgeon talk to the cardiologist. I had a lump removed last fall but they were able to get it with the vacuum thingy which I assume is a whole lot more simple. It was right next to my pacer so I was really paranoid about my leads, one of them is still working from '94 and I'm dependent. My ep had me send a pacer download before and again after the procedure to compare and make sure the leads were ok. The breast surgeon looked at my xrays to see where the leads were before he decided which direction he was going in from.  I was a little stressed out at the time but it all worked out ok. Wishing you the same. Good luck to you, prayers for an easy procedure, benign results, and no allergic reactions. And no more troubles for a while. Like, a decade or five ;o)

You know you're wired when...

You have a $50,000 chest.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
