Hyperthyroidism

Had pacemaker put in for Bradycardia in October 2017. Started having ventricular tachycardia incidents in May 2018. In between this my TSH thyroid levels went from normal to .263 to now it is .074. My Vtach incidents are increasing and my appointment to see the endocrinologist isn’t for 2 months. Going crazy over here.

Call your Endo and explain what is going on, he should be able to see you.  If not, then i would go to ER, there are meds that can help your hyperthyroid.  i had Graves Disease a long time ago, which is hyper Thyroid, they did prescribe pills that will help, i then opted for my thyroid to be nuked by radiation.  Not sure i would do that today, i would try meds for a while longer.

I think it's time to advocate for yourself. For sure, you need to be seen by somebody, cardio, endo, somebody.

The chances are you didn't actually talk to the endocrinologist but just to the person who answers the phone. That person is not an MD. They don't know how to evaluate the urgency of the situation. Ask to be put on the cancellation list. Ask to speak to a nurse.

Get the name of everyone you talk to. It's amazing how often if you make your call personal to them, you start getting more cooperation. Be polite always, but be assertive.

If that fails, call your cardiologist office and/or your GP. Tell them your problem and ask for their help.

And there's always the ER.

was able to get in to the endocrinologist today because someone canceled. He ordered some blood tests and an ultrasound. Will see what that shows. At least I didn’t have to wait 2 months. Thanks for the responses.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
