I’ve had my pacemaker 4 months now with no problems and little to no pain after the first few weeks. I feel great and have been very active. I’ve been side sleeping just fine, etc.
Here’s my question. Last night, while on my right side, I had a terrible pain and jolt at the implantation site (muscle). It literally took my breath away for a few seconds. After that, it was sensitive all night no matter what position I tried. It still seems sensitive to certain left arm movements. Any idea what happened??? I’d sure like to keep it from happening again! I’m small build and sleep with an arm/ shoulder pillow since surgery for side sleeping.
Thanks! These forums have helped me a lot!

Thanks for comments regarding my site pain. Muscle spasm certainly makes sense.

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.

I have no idea why you would get pain after 4 months but it could be that you need to get rid of that arm pillow. You might have had a muscle spasm or twitch. We are all different, take time to heal and odd things do happen but they usually mean nothing.
I doubt you could have hurt yourself in any significant way. Just try to ignore it for a few nights, if it still concerns you, ask a doctor.
