Has anyone else been given Midodrine as a subsitute for pacemaker implantation? I was prescibed this by my cardiologist and he swore that it would help my slow heart rate and low blood pressure. I took it for a couple of weeks and was dizzy and disoriented as soon as I started. I am 84 years old and the symptoms were debilitating. The doctor claims that the symptoms were not caused by the drug, but I was convinced that they were. I have now gotten the pacemaker (one week ago) and the dizziness persists but seems to be better than it was. My hope is that when the drug wears off I will continue to improve. Any comments would be helpful.

I don't have any experience with Midodrine but I think you know your body better than your doctor.
From WebMD: "Less commonside effects include dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, trouble sleeping, or leg cramps."
