It is with a happy wired heart that I say Hello back to all of you!  Life is changing for sure... Retirement actually scared me a lot... However, I really had no need to worry.  Wires and leads are doing well. I have about 18 months left on this 2nd implant. Then it will be time for an update!

Girls...

As my kids would say...smile time.

I remember. They tell me time is running short, but to me we'll always be friends. Don't forget ladies you all committed to raising your toilet seats as I float by in a 21 lid salute and look up to you... :)

omg so we did

It has been a VERY long time since I've logged onto this site.  Not because I don't care, but life got busy.  I had my 2nd pacemaker 2 years ago and everything went very well.  I was beyond frightened (my first one I coded twice AFTER having it implanted) and found this site and the oodles of support got me through AND I met several friends for life.  But I gotta be honest and say why I really left -- it was when we lost Electric Frank, Smitty, and BlueAustralia (Billie).  It was just too much for me.  I know we find this site because the majority of us have an issue after we receive our pacemaker (or defib) or we are about to receive one and we are frightened, which is normal.  The one piece of advice I can give is:  read as much as you can on this site, ask as many questions as you can of your doctor, and know that things will be okay in the end.  If you feel as though you cannot get through to you doctor or PM Tech or whomever checks your device, there is always the Patient Advocate, every hospital has one.  If you contact the Patient Advocate, chances are you will be heard.  I truly wish you all the best and I will try and log on when I can to lend my support.  Take care everyone and be kind to everyone.  Karen (aka Pookie).  Oh - and a big shout out and hello to Patch...I think of you often.

You know you're wired when...

You are always wired and full of energy.

In fact after the final "tweaks" of my pacemaker programming at the one year check up it is working so well that I forget I have it.
