Electrophysiology

My cardiologist is electrophysiologist?? But i will take advice and look elsewhere for advice.  I thought I may get some support and good advice from this site about my reliance on a pacemaker and have been pleasantly surprised how some people have answered my post and I thank you .. the last post I had advised i go to another site and that this site is for pacemakers.. t hats put me completely off and this is the reason I take care of myself and rely on my own judgement.. thank you for the helpful messages .. i appreciate it .. i will not be back.

I believe you misunderstood

I believe the comment was to give you another, perhaps better, place to look for information on your particular issues.  AV node ablation isn't to be considered lightly.  The suggestion was to make _sure_ you've tried everything else first and gave you a place to start your research.   I highly doubt anyone meant to chase you away.

Before you go, read this...

Advice is like noses - everyone has one, some are just uglier than others!  You have gotten as great spectrum of advice here..All of it has been good advice, even the last post that turned you off so badly.

The common thread is that ABLATION is the last stop on the rail line.  I got that from my most recent ex-EP (He's ex only because I moved 500 miles from him) way back in about 2006 when we were discussing alternatives to treatment for my situation.   In that time I've read a LOT of posts - some Great, some not so great...but the great ones far outnumbered the others.

Yes, this is the "Pacemeker Club," but for nearly all ab\lation patients, the PM was the longest stretch of track on that rail ine.  Only rarely does a person plunge into the world of arrhythmias with the requirement for an ablation.

Before quittinmg, go see what the last poster said about AFIBBERS.ORG is all about - you might just glean something useful.  ....

i have a pm & had several several questions that i wanted answered by "first hand" people so i googled saw this site joined and my very first question i asked the replies i got i didnt & still dont know how to take. ive reread them countless times and still dont know how to take them.the problem with online/txtn conversations is often they can be misinterpreted. i havent had my pm very long and i wish i could answer or help you more... therz ALWAYS going to be negative people BUT therz also to going to be positive helpfull people. keep asking & keep looking!! i hope you find your answers because they're out ther.

You know you're wired when...

Your favorite poem is “Ode to a Cardiac Node”.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
