Good day All,
If i have a MRI pacemaker and it is not put in MRI mode before the MRI, will the pacemaker be subjected to damage?

Are your leads MRI ready?? Many of us are on our 2nd or 3rd pacemaker and even if the pacemaker is MRI ready the leads are NOT. Cannot have an MRI if you have older leads.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.

"MRI mode" turns off sensing and runs the pacemaker "open loop". The idea is to ignore any interference from the MRI.
